![]() Unfortunately now that our plans for Trine 3 have been cut back a lot, I'm not sure if we'll ever get this fixed (it isn't top of our list anyway, as the number of 32 bit users is quite small). This became evident after early access release, so we didn't want to disable 32 bit mode at that point. It will make the game pretty much unplayable, but if it fixes the problem, then we know it is about memory (probably).Īlso, if you could send the crash dump (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Trine 3\log\trine3_32bit.exe_235ba282.dmp) to our support together with a link to this conversation, I could take a look. If you can't play even one level at a time, and if you wish to help us debug the problem further, you could try setting option NoTextureLoad to true in %appdata%\Trine3\options.txt. You can also try reducing graphics details, although 32 bit version is already limited to medium settings (and actually, even those are somewhat scaled down from 64 but version) due to memory consumption. To minimize the change of crashes, you could try playing just one level at a time. It's about address space, which is limited to 2 GBs on 32 bit system. 64 bit system with 4 GBs of memory should do just fine. Note that this isn't about the amount of physical memory in a system. Probably most of the others are too, but they are just too distorted to tell easily. ![]() Over half the crash reports we get for 32 bit version are pretty clear out of memory errors. :) You can find them from our blog. The unfortunate truth is that the game's memory consumption isn't really optimized well enough to run under 32 bit operating system. We also took some new screenshots to celebrate the release. ![]() We'd like to thank everyone who took part in the Early Access - it's been a wonderful journey for us, and we hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have!
